The Museum of Modern Art's Visual Thinking Curriculum

Getting ready for a visit to the Picasso-Matisse Exhibit at MoMA-QNS

working with AMICO (Art Museum Images Consortium).

Students have been studying the methodology of the Museum of Modern Art's Visual Thinking Curriculum in order to better engage in dialogue when discussing works of art. Recently the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has moved to a new building in our borough of Queens, NYC while the new museum in Manhattan is being constructed.

Our visits to MoMA-QNS (the new building) and our study of art using MoMA's questions has led us to develop our own interpretations of artwork being studied. Some of those questions include:

AMICO has also helped us to learn about art. The Art Museum Images Consortium has a library of online art from museums around the world. We visit the AMICO library online and study art from all over the world. Below are our interpretations of art from ideas we got from famous artists. Because of copyright laws, the original art is not on the web next to our versions. For more on copyrights for kids, please visit a site created by students of Astre 5 in 2000 for Thinkquest Junior called "From Pokemon to Picasso, Art Rights and Wrongs". It won a Silver Award because it taught students about copyrights and trademarks. AMICO helped those students with information for creating that site.
